The A Word for Home Decorators page on the MegaChess website presents some of the benefits of a large chess piece for home decoration. We have a need for a marketeer to present that to home decorating businesses (not individual home decorators).

The ideal applicant would come with an understanding of the business of marketing home decorations.

Our marketing process will begin by defining the market segment, what is the distribution channel for home decorations, what membership groups do the participants belong to, the magazines they read, the trade shows they attend, the websites they frequent, the major companies and organizations that shape this distribution channel, etc.

Next, this applicant would sharpen the value statement to this market segment, and devise a marketing plan to convey the value statement. This can include mass mailing, telemarketing, magazine ads, trade show participation, trade journal articles, resale relationship building, PR submittals -- whatever is most appropriate for the decision makers.

This applicant may execute elements of the marketing plan or they may be tasked out to specialists. Key is that this applicant has a passion for chess, the chosen market segment, and becoming the expert at connecting the two.

We see this as several person days of work of initial analysis & reporting, planning, and market development. Once a market relationship has been established, maintenance would require about an hour or two per day.
