When a client fields their
KB Meister account, they
often begin with data, information, and knowledge spread widely among
documents, online resources, tabular databases, etc. This applicant will begin
by fielding a cohesive and intuitive system of categories and subcategories to
house such disparate information.
He/she will then enter the initial set of knowledge
objects, typically data entry with an understanding of where to store the data
and how to crossindex it. From a system administrator's standpoint, the
knowledge objects will be designated as public or private at various levels,
and the users will be assigned appropriate access levels. Subject to a
transition plan, the KB Meister account employees will be educated and
supported as they learn to manage their knowledge base.
We see this level of effort at several person-days per
KB Meister account setup.
